Jockey Joel Rosario and groom Alex Escobar celebrate after Accelerate's victory in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

The first foal by the five-time Grade 1-winning champion Accelerate has hit the ground.

The colt was born Jan. 21 in Lexington, Ky. This is the first foal out of the Congrats mare, Sweet Congrats, who hails from the family of Woodbine Oaks victress Dixie Moon, as well as stakes winners Guy Caballero and Candybedandy.

“We're very excited about him, he's a very strong, good-bodied foal very much like his sire,” said Bob McCann. “We love Accelerate. A five-time Grade 1 winner, $380,000 yearling and is great value at $20,000.”

Accelerate, who bred a first-season book of 167 mares, stands at Lane's End Farm in Versailles, Ky.
