Xpressbet announced it will be the exclusive online provider of the $500,000 estimated Pegasus World Cup Betting Championship (PWCBC), offering horseplayers the opportunity to play in horse racing's “most player-friendly handicapping tournament” from the comfort and convenience of home.

The PWCBC sets itself apart from other handicapping tournaments by guaranteeing a $300,000 prize pool, which includes $100,000 contributions from The Stronach Group and Xpressbet. Tournament officials estimate the total prize pool will reach $500,000. Cash prizes are paid to the top 10 finishers, with the winner receiving an estimated $250,000 cash prize and seats to both the National Handicapping Championship (NHC) and the Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge (BCBC).

Gulfstream Park will host this two-day tournament on January 26-27 in conjunction with the world's richest horse race, the $16-million Pegasus World Cup. In addition to playing online at Xpressbet, players can also play live, on-site at Gulfstream or at three satellite locations – Santa Anita Park, Golden Gate Fields and Laurel Park.

Online and satellite participation in the PWCBC requires a $12,000 bankroll and $1,000 entry fee. Players must bet a minimum amount and number of races each day, and the tournament is limited to Win, Place Show, Exacta and Trifecta wagers.

Now in its second year, the $16-million Pegasus World Cup Invitational is horse racing's richest race. This year's field is expected to include reigning Breeders' Cup Classic champion, Gun Runner, as well as Collected, West Coast, Sharp Azteca, Seeking the Soul and Stellar Wind.
