Track Phantom Play Of The Day: Down The Hill At Santa Anita

by | 05.30.2015 | 2:53pm

The Track Phantom Play of the Day for Saturday is the nightcap at Santa Anita, a maiden special weight for California-bred or sired horses 3 and up. A field of twelve will travel six and a half furlongs on the downhill turf course. Post time is 7:46 ET, 4:46 PT.

Here are the Track Phantom's selections:

9 HE COULD 8-1
1 FRITZ JOHANSEN 8-1
5 SHANTY IRISH 6-1
12 PAY THE FINE 4-1

9 HE COULD
Been working for a long time for trainer Donald Warren, who's had some runners fire first out of late. He had one win for this ownership on the turf going down-the-hill last month. Works decent but clockers not overly impressed. Bred for the lawn.

1 FRITZ JOHANSEN
Has been off a long time and come back as a first time gelding. He has a lot of turf blood and looks to be the kind that will get a benefit from the change to a gelding. Working well for this.
