A power failure at a national Sportech tote hub caused the cancellation of multiple tracks on Tuesday due to the inability to accept simulcast wagers, according to the Daily Racing Form.

Sam Houston, Turf Paradise, Monticello and Yonkers all cancelled their cards without having run a single race, despite several opting to delay the start of races in the hopes that the malfunction could be quickly resolved. At Mahoning Valley, all races were run as non-betting events.

A spokesperson for Sportech told Daily Racing Form a power failure at the company's Quantum Data Center in Mount Laurel, N.J., led to the outage.

“We are following protocol to investigate the root cause of the power loss, and we will provide updates to our customers as more information becomes available,” Sportech's Jennifer Conning was quoted as saying in an email to the newspaper on Wednesday.
