A power outage caused by a severe electrical storm forced the cancellation of the final five races at Suffolk Downs on Saturday, including the a trio of listed stakes races. Racing resumes on Sunday for the final live racing card at the historic racetrack.
The seventh and eighth live races were also cancelled due to inclement weather at Delaware Park. Shortly after the sixth race was made official, a severe thunderstorm producing high winds and heavy rains struck the area prompting the cancellation of the last two live races on the card.
Live racing at Delaware is scheduled to resume on Monday, July 1st.
