With a $1 million guaranteed 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot to shoot at, punters sent $221,946 into Santa Anita's Rainbow pool on Sunday, creating a Jackpot carryover into Thursday of $127,225.25
With a nine-race card on tap at Santa Anita, there were 14 winning 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six tickets with all six winners, returning a tidy $8,469.20 each.
A tremendously popular wager at Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita replaced the two-dollar minimum Pick Six with the 20 cent Jackpot version on opening day of its 22-day Autumn Meet this past Friday. The results have been very positive, as Friday's Pick Six, which offered a $250,000 guaranteed Jackpot pool, paid $7,336.25 to a total of six tickets with all six winners.
Saturday's Rainbow Six, which offered a $1 million guaranteed Jackpot pool, generated a $251,385 pool, resulting in 12 winning tickets, each worth $11,189.
The 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six offers players 10-times the coverage of the old two dollar minimum bet and returns 70 percent of that day's pool to those with the highest amount of winning horses and directs 30 percent of the same pool to the next day's Jackpot kitty.
First post time for an eight-race card on Thursday is at 1 p.m. Approximate post time for Thursday's third race, the beginning of the 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot, is at 2 p.m. PT.
