For the second consecutive day, Santa Anita Park will guarantee $2 million in Saturday's popular 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot, which will begin with the sixth race on an 11-race program.
As Saturday is Breeders' Cup Classic Day from Churchill Downs, Santa Anita's admission gates will open early at 7:15 a.m. and first live race post time in Arcadia is at 10:30 a.m.
Approximate post time for Saturday's sixth race is at 2:10 p.m. PT.
With a $2 million guaranteed Jackpot in place Friday and a “live money” pool of $1,298,071, there were three Rainbow Six tickets with six winners, each worth $54,328.25. Additionally, there were three “live” Jackpot tickets coming into Friday's 10th and final race. Of the three, Awesome Amanda, off at 26-1 finished closest, checking in seventh under Tyler Conner.
Saturday's 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six will include a pair of stakes, the Grade III, $100,000 Senator Ken Maddy, which has been slotted as race eight, and the $200,000 Golden State Juvenile, which will go as race 10. Trainer Phil D'Amato's Storm the Hill is the 7/2 morning line favorite among a field of 10 in the Maddy, while Bob Baffert's Cruel Intention is the 8-5 morning line choice in the Golden State Juvenile.
With 63 horses entered and eligible to run in Saturday's Rainbow Six, field size stands at 10.5 runners per race.
