Santa Anita: $1 Million Pick Six Pool Expected Thursday

by | 10.19.2015 | 8:04am

A parade of longshots on Sunday at Santa Anita resulted in a hefty two-day Pick Six carryover of $311,096—and the expectation that Thursday's total Pick Six pool will exceed $1 million.

Santa Anita will offer an eight-race program on Thursday, with the Pick Six covering races three through eight.  Barring late scratches, a total of 48 horses are set to compete in Thursday's “Six,” for an average of eight runners per race.

First post time on Thursday is at 1 p.m. and admission gates open 11 a.m.  Fans are encouraged to visit for equipment changes, scratches, jockey changes and morning line information.

Currently 48 horses entered not including and ae’s, of those 48 there are 11 that I’m very comfortable saying have no real chance to win, thus there are now 37 (~4 1/2 per race) and if there are only 3 of them scratched you’ll have 34 or 4 horses per race avg. with a very realistic shot to win. This is what So Cal racing has come to, here are the horses with a shot by race
    3: 1-2-7-8 (4)
    4: 1-2-3-4-5-7 (6)
    5:1-2-4-6-7-8 (6)
    6:2-3-4-6-8 (5)
    7:3-4-5-6 (4)
    8:3-4-6-8-10 (5) total 30, let’s see Thursday eve how I did

OK so you have it down to a $28,800 ticket. Are you going to play that…lol?

No, I played So Cal for almost 40 years however with the rampant cheating that goes on there more so in the last 4-5 years than ever before I no longer do. I used the horses whom I felt may be at a bit of an advantage over the others for reasons other than hay, oats, water. Strictly my uneducated opinion, so let’s see how I do, BTW these are picked without regard to odds so 6/5 or 20-1 ml of no consequence. If you play good luck, once scratches are out it may be as little as $12k and affordable LOL

narrowing it down, currently 5PM PST Wednesday:
          4: 1-2-3-5
5: ( 9&10 are top but BOTH are on AE list) if not drawn in then
          6: 2-6-8
          7: 3-4
          8: 6-10

Total now $1536 OR $718 depending on race 5 scratches
