The Breeders' Cup is looking to offer future wagers on several races this year, according to a report at Daily Racing Form. DRF cited documents and “multiple racing officials with knowledge of the plans,” saying bets could be offered as early as this weekend on the Distaff and the Classic. The report said each wager would include 15 individual horses and one field entry.
The last time the Breeders' Cup offered future wagers was 2002 and 2003 but a lack of handle prompted the end of those bets.
In addition to the Classic and Distaff, the Daily Racing Form reports future wagers might also be offered on the Juvenile (and sire of the Juvenile winner), as well as the Breeders' Cup Turf.
