A group of owners and breeders have reached an agreement to purchase an interest in the UK bookmaking brand the Tote, according to gamingtoday.com. The “Alizeti consortium” will acquire a 25 percent share of the Tote for $201 million, with an option to purchase 100 percent later on.

The Tote, supported by trainer John Gosden and the Racehorse Owners Association, is expected to compete with Britbet, supported by 55 racetracks.
