A 38-1 longshot in the last race sealed the deal Friday at Santa Anita, as no one correctly tabbed six winners in the Pick Six, creating a carryover of $96,867 into Saturday. With an 11-race card on tap and a special early first post time of 12 noon, track officials project that Santa Anita's total Pick Six pool on Belmont Stakes Day, Saturday, should approach $750,000.
With admission gates set to open tomorrow at 8 a.m., approximate post time for Saturday's sixth race, which is leg one in the Pick Six, is 2:28 p.m. PT.
With a total of 69 horses eligible to run in Saturday's Pick Six, average field size, barring scratches, is 11.3 runners per race.
In addition to the carryover of $96,867, Santa Anita's Single Ticket Pick Six Jackpot now stands at $534,469.
