$10-Million Pool Anticipated For Saturday’s Mandatory Payout Of Santa Anita Rainbow Six

With an anticipated total live money pool of more than $10 million up for grabs, there will be a mandatory payout on the line in Saturday's 20 cent Single Ticket Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot at Santa Anita.  With a 10-race card on tap, the Rainbow Six will begin with race five, which has an anticipated post time of 2:23 p.m. PT.

The popular Single Ticket Rainbow Pick Six, which has remained unsolved through 22 racing days, beginning Dec. 26, has generated a total live money Jackpot carryover of $1,592,209 into Saturday and track officials project that even with possible late scratches due to expected rain, the total mandatory payout Jackpot pool should exceed the $10 million mark.

With $334,541 in “new” money wagered Friday, the total live money Jackpot pool reached $1,850,158. There were 29 consolation tickets with six winners, each worth $6,266.25.

Derby prospects will go postward in race six, the Grade 3, $150,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes at 1 1/16 miles, and older horses will be center stage in the ninth race, the G2, $200,000 San Pasqual Stakes, for older horses at 1 1/8 miles.
