The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation's on-line holiday auction is underway. The auction, which will benefit the nearly 1,000 horses in the TRF herd began at 8 a.m. Monday, November 23 and will run until 10 p.m. Monday, December 7 at the following website: https://www.biddingforgood.com/auction/auctionhome.action?auctionId=247841108.
Auction items include a print of 2015 “Grand Slam” champion American Pharoah, the first horse to win the Triple Crown – the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes– and the Breeders' Cup Classic. This print is signed by American Pharoah's trainer, Bob Baffert, and his jockey, Victor Espinoza. Among the other items currently available are prints of 1972 Triple Crown winner Secretariat and Kentucky Derby winners Ferdinand and Funny Cide.
Sponsorships are also available on the auction site.
The auction will conclude at 10 p.m. EST on December 7.
