Approximately 40 horses will be available for purchase and their trainers will be on hand to answer questions. The track veterinarian will also be on site to provide pre-purchase exams to interested buyers at cost.

“We welcome the opportunity to once again be selected as a location for the CANTER PA event to help find great homes for our retiring racehorses,” stated Kevin O'Sullivan, Vice President and General Manager for Presque Isle Downs and Casino. “We support the mission statement of the CANTER PA program, which is focused upon creating a bridge between the racehorse industry and the placement of ex-racehorses into quality sport and pleasure homes. Our on-site Presque Isle Downs team members have volunteered their time in coordinating this event to ensure success in transitioning the racehorses housed at Presque Isle Downs to new careers.”
“This Showcase is a wonderful way for Thoroughbred enthusiasts to find the perfect horse for their chosen sport. If you are looking for a dressage, jumper, eventing or pleasure horse prospect this is the event for you,” said Sue Smith, executive director, CANTER Pennsylvania. “The athletic ability and versatility of these fabulous horses is beyond compare.”
A “showstopper” and “killer athlete” is how Laken Vail of Roanoke, VA, describes Judge Roy Bean, a horse she bought in last year's Showcase. “That boy will jump the moon,” said Laken. “He is on his way to be a fantastic 3'6 hunter.”
Laken noted the buying experience was very positive and the overall event went very smoothly.
