A paralyzed Vietnam veteran, Roberto Gonzales is one of the only disabled licensed horse trainers in the state of Texas. When he entered the hospital to deal with a back wound recently, doctors discovered that he also needed treatment for his failing liver and kidneys, reports WALB News.
Taking a turn for the worse, Gonzales knew that his final wish would be to see his two favorite horses, Sugar and Ringo, one final time. His wife, Rosario, helped make it happen, and wants other patients to know that their dreams can come true, as well.
“When the horses came up to him, he actually opened his eyes,” she said. “They came up to him and I think they were actually kissing him.”
