The Equine Land Conservation Resource will host a webinar on Tuesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. Titled “How They Did It: Dealing with Opposition to Equestrian Trails,” the webinar will focus on understanding the causes of opposition, and developing an organization and communication plan long before trail plans are implemented.
Presenter Mark Flint will offer simple steps to help develop a support network, as well as thoughts on finding volunteers and fundraising. Flint is a professional trail designer from Tucson, AZ, and owner of Southwest Trail Solutions. He was heavily involved with the design and construction of the Arizona National Scenic Trail. He understands trails and the people who use them, including hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. He is also a chief regional steward for the Arizona Trail Association and is author of Desert Trails: Designing and Building Trails in a Harsh and Demanding Environment.
