Four graded stakes races are on the card this weekend, with one each offering points toward the Kentucky Derby and Oaks, respectively.
The G3 Sham at Santa Anita on Saturday features a six-horse field offering 10 Derby points to the winner. The morning-line favorite is Bob Baffert trainee Authentic, with co-second choices of his stablemate Azul Coast and Richard Baltas trainee Taishan.
Saturday's card at Gulfstream features the listed Mucho Macho Man stakes, which serves as a prep race on the Road to the Florida Derby. While it does not offer Kentucky Derby points, the race has drawn a field of seven including talented Florida-bred Chance It as well as stakes winner As Seen on TV.
Sunday's G2 Santa Ynez at Santa Anita features three-time Grade 1 winner Bast at even-money on the morning line. She faces a field of six others seeking Oaks points, including Baffert-trained stablemates Auberge and Golden Principal.
