A quintuplet of graded stakes at Gulfstream on Saturday are the highlight of this weekend's Thoroughbred racing action. The 1 1/16th mile Harlan's Holiday Stakes (G3) features Marathon victor Destin, seeking an entrance to the $16 million Pegasus World Cup in January. Trainer Todd Pletcher said that a good performance could put the Giant's Causeway colt in contention for the world's richest race, but Destin will have to get past the speedy Mr. Jordan to get it done.
Other stakes on the Saturday card at Gulfstream include the G3 Rampart, G3 Sugar Swirl, G3 My Charmer, and the G3 Tropical Turf.
Curlin's Approval is the heavy favorite in the Rampart at 8-5 on the morning line, while Dearest is the top choice in the Sugar Swirl. Both turf stakes feature a prominent entrant as well, with Blacktype leading the Tropical Turf and On Leave a strong chance in the My Charmer.
