This weekend's North American racing action is highlighted by the Maryland Million series on Saturday at Laurel Park. The featured race, the Classic, offers a contentious field of ten starters with three also-eligibles. Morning-line favorite Bonus Points is last on the AEs, so the main body favoritism falls to Saratoga Bob, a 4-year-old son of Friesan Fire with two wins, two seconds, and two thirds on his seasonal resume.
Others to watch in the series include: Crabcakes in the Distaff, Lewisfield in the Sprint, and Phlash Phelps in the Turf.
Also on Saturday is the British Champions Series at Ascot. Some of the top choices include: Stradivarius in the Long Distance Cup, The Tin Man in the Sprint, Lah Ti Dar in the Fillies & Mares, Roaring Lion and Laurens in the Mile, and Cracksman in the Middle Distance Stakes.
