This Saturday's Grade 1 Man o'War Stakes at Belmont Park has drawn a competitive field of 10 for the 11-furlong turf challenge. Morning-line favorite Hi Happy, a multiple Group 1 winner in Argentina now in the barn of trainer Todd Pletcher, most recently dominated the G2 Pan American at Gulfstream, and distance does not look to be an issue.
Sadler's Joy finished third in this race in 2017, and is looking to improve on that finish for trainer Tom Albertrani. He was recently fourth behind Hi Happy after a wide trip, so his near-the-rail post position could be an advantage this Saturday.
Of course, trainer Chad Brown has a talented group in the Man o'War, including Wake Forest, who won this race in 2016. Other Brown trainees are Money Multiplier and Call Provision.
One Go All Go seems to be in top form right now for trainer Charles Dickey, having most recently captured Keeneland's G2 Elkhorn. Additionally, trainer Mike Maker can be dangerous in this long-distance turf stakes with former claimers like his Man o'War entrant Bigger Picture.
