The Keeneland September Yearling Sale rolls into Book 3 Monday following two strong weekend sessions of Book 2, and the Paulick Report is pleased to offer a print newsletter, the PR Special, available both here and on the Keeneland Association grounds in Lexington, Ky.
Daily sessions of the September sale, which continues through Sept. 23, commence at 10 a.m.
In this edition of the PR Special, bloodstock editor Joe Nevills concludes his In the Stand series by profiling Walt Robertson, who got his start as an auctioneer after practicing aboard a tractor while mowing the fields of his family farm. In the Stallion Spotlight feature, Nevills speaks with Hill ‘n' Dale's John Sikura about first-year sire Bayern, who is off to a quick start in the sales ring. The Honor Roll, by Ray Paulick, highlights a Book 3 success, multiple G1 winner City of Light, picked out of the Lane's End consignment by Mark Reid of Walnut Green.
Also, Dr. Scott Morrison provides an excellent tutorial on contracted tendons in the Rood and Riddle Ask Your Veterinarian feature, and Nevills gives his perspective on some of the sale's top hips in Ten to Watch.
