The Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale begins a 12-day run today in Lexington, Ky., with the first horse scheduled to enter the ring at noon EST. Subsequent sessions begin at 10 a.m. Once again, the Paulick Report is pleased to offer its printed newsletter, the PR Special, distributed on the sale grounds and digitally at PaulickReport.com and to email subscribers.
In this edition of the PR Special, bloodstock editor Joe Nevills, in the Stallion Spotlight, focuses on California Chrome, the two-time Horse of the Year whose first foals are now being offered as weanlings. Nevills also continues the Kentucky Farm Time Capsule series with a look at the historic Almahurst Farm, the former standardbred nursery now owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey and operating as Ramsey Farm.
A new feature on equine insurance from Bryce Burton of Muirfield Insurance explains Prospective Foal Insurance and Dr. Tom Riddle of Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital provides some insights on gaps in a mare's produce record in Ask Your Veterinarian. Keeneland November graduate Separationofpowers is profiled by racing news editor Chelsea Hackbarth in the Honor Roll feature and Nevills looks for some of the session's top hips in Ten to Watch.
