PR Special Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale: Collier Not The Retiring Type

by | 08.11.2018 | 12:20pm

Fasig-Tipton's New York-Breds Yearling Sale – coming off a record year in terms of gross receipts, average, median and top price – kicks off a two-night run Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and the Paulick Report is pleased to offer the first of two PR Special newsletters for distribution both on the sale grounds and online.

In this edition of the PR Special, bloodstock editor Joe Nevills profiles Terence Collier, a constant behind the microphone in the sales ring podium for more than 40 years.

Dr. Tom Riddle goes over concerns some owners and breeders may have with “cribbers” in the Rood and Riddle Ask Your Veterinarian feature. In the Stallion Spotlight, bloodstock writer Frank Mitchell takes a look at the War Front son Summer Front, one of many highly regarded young sires represented at the sale with their first crop now yearlings. Mitchell also dives into the opening session catalog with the popular Five to Watch, featuring some of the sale's top hips.

Graduates of the New York-bred sale include this year's Grade 1 Florida Derby winner Audible, the subject of racing editor Chelsea Hackbarth's Honor Roll, and Joe Nevills provides details on the New York-Bred Sale exacta of Diversify and Mind Your Biscuits in last week's G1 Whitney.
