The Paulick Report is pleased to bring back a popular photo/video feature that will run every other week and will spotlight stallions standing in Kentucky.

The series, put together by our friends at EquiSport Photos, will feature stallions that are either just entering stud in 2017, or stallions that have not yet had their first crop reach the racetrack.

This week's spotlight stallion is Runhappy, a 5-year-old son of Super Saver that is standing his first season in 2017 at Claiborne Farm.

Runhappy made his racing debut late in his 2-year-old season, winning a maiden race at Turfway Park by 8 1/4 lengths in late December.

Runhappy was then sidelined for several months after injuring himself in the G3 LeComte Stakes at Fair Grounds. He reappeared on the racetrack in July, and proceeded to rattle off six straight wins. After victories at Indiana Grand and Ellis Park, Runhappy was sent to Saratoga, where he took the G1 King's Bishop by four lengths. That was followed by a win in the G3 Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland, which he used as a stepping stone for the G1 Breeders' Cup Sprint, run over the same track.

After taking the BC Sprint in dominating fashion, Runhappy was sent to California, where he capped off his year with a win in the G1 Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita. Runhappy was honored that year with the Eclipse Award as champion male sprinter.

Runhappy had an abbreviated season at age four due to various minor injuries, and made just two starts. He was retired to stud with a record of seven wins in 10 starts, with earnings of $1,496,250.

We hope you enjoy our new feature, and we would once again like to thank our friends at EquiSport Photos for the great video.
