Brody's Cause

The spotlight stallion in this week's edition of In the Stud is Brody's Cause, a 4-year-old son of Giant's Causeway standing his first season at Spendthrift Farm.

Brody's Cause broke his maiden in his second career start at age two, taking a one-mile maiden special weight contest at Churchill Downs. In his very next start, he captured the G1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity, defeating eventual G1 Preakness Stakes-winner, Exaggerator.

Brody's Cause closed out his juvenile season with a third-place finish to Nyquist in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

As a 3-year-old, Brody's Cause started his season with somewhat lackluster off-the-board finish in the G2 Tampa Bay Derby. The colt quickly rebounded however, taking G1 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland  by 1 3/4 lengths. He ran just twice more during his 3-year-old season, finishing unplaced in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes.

Brody's Cause was retired in October 2016 to Spendthrift Farm.

Brody's Cause raced two seasons, winning three of eight starts and finishing third once. He earned a total of $1,168,138.

We hope you enjoy the latest edition of In the Stud presented by KERx. We would once again like to thank our friends at EquiSport Photos for the excellent video.
