The Paulick Report is pleased to introduce a new photo/video feature that will run every other week and will spotlight stallions standing in Kentucky.

The series, put together by our friends at EquiSport Photos, will feature stallions that are either just entering stud in 2016, or stallions that have not yet had their first crop reach the racetrack.

This week's spotlight stallion is Karakontie, a 5-year-old son of Bernstein that is standing his first season in 2016 at Gainesway Farm.

Karakontie flashed talent early in his racing career, winning three of four starts in France as a juvenile including the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and the Group 3 Prix La Rochette.

The following year at three Karakontie became a classic winner, taking France's Group 1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains. He capped off his sophomore season with an impressive come from behind victory in the G1 Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita.

We hope you enjoy our new feature, and we would once again like to thank our friends at EquiSport Photos for the great video.
