Jockey Rosie Napravnik has captured the attention of everyone from owners to trainers to fans to mainstream media as she has become one of the top riders in the nation this year. Napravnik took out her jockey's license in 2005 and started making headlines the next year, winning riding titles at Pimlico and Laurel for all four meets in 2006 and finishing behind Julien Leparoux in Eclipse voting for outstanding apprentice jockey. Napravnik became the first female rider to win the Kentucky Oaks in 2012 and broke the record for best Kentucky Derby placing by a female rider when she rode Mylute to fifth in 2013. So far this year, she has won 22 percent of her starts and her mounts have earned over $10.3 million.
