Both My Flag and Storm Flag Flying, her daughter by Storm Cat, won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, in 1995 and 2002, respectively. Some of the top producers to come out of the Juvenile Fillies include Caressing (2000), dam of champion West Coast, and Flanders (1994), dam of champion millionaire Surfside.
Countess Diana may hold the record for largest winning margin in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at 8 ½ lengths, and Silverbulletday went on to win the Kentucky Oaks, but it is Halfbridled and Tempera who earned the highest BRIS Speed Ratings for their victories in the World Championships event.

Halfbridled, a daughter of Unbridled, was a magnificent 2-year-old filly who was undefeated in her four starts for trainer Richard Mandella. A homebred for Wertheimer and Frere, she broke her maiden with ease at Del Mar, crossing the wire 4 ½ lengths the best under Julie Krone. Halfbridled parlayed that success into a five-length domination of the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante.
She graduated to two turns with a 4 ½-length win in the G2 Oak Leaf at Santa Anita, then overcame a wide trip to best future Hall of Fame racemare Ashado by 2 ½ lengths in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. The win and undefeated season earned Halfbridled the Eclipse Award in her division. Notably, Krone's victory aboard Halfbridled was also the first ever by a female jockey in the Breeders' Cup.
Though Halfbridled never again found the winner's circle, she did finish second twice during her 3-year-old campaign, both times in graded stakes company. Retired to the breeding shed, the best of Halfbridled's progeny turned out to be the hard-knocking gelding Half Strike (Smart Strike), who earned just over $130,000.
Tempera, a daughter of A.P. Indy owned and bred by Goldolphin, also earned a 107 BRIS Speed Rating. Her career under the care of Eoin Harty began just as auspiciously, with a third and then a maiden-breaking effort at Hollywood Park before taking Del Mar's Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes by an eye-catching nine lengths.
She faded in the lane in the G1 Del Mar Debutante to finish third, beaten four lengths, but moved up to two turns and kept further off the pace, Tempera earned her signature victory in the Breeders' Cup at Belmont Park. Her final time of 1:41.49 was then the fastest 1 1/16-mile time in race history, and Tempera was voted champion 2-year-old filly in 2001.
She was then transferred to the care of trainer Saeed bin Suroor in Dubai, and collected a pair of second-place finishes in the UAE 1,000 Guineas and UAE Oaks. Shipped back to the U.S. for the Kentucky Oaks, Tempera was euthanized at a Kentucky veterinary clinic after a fever developed into colitis and laminits.
Interestingly, both Halfbridled and Tempera were sired by Breeders' Cup Classic winners.

Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf
Top Performer: More Than Real, 2010, CD
BRIS Speed Rating: 107
By More Than Ready and out of the multiple stakes-winning Dehere mare Miss Seffens, More Than Real's performance in the 2010 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf earned her the highest BRIS Speed Rating in the race's short 10-year history. Trained by Todd Pletcher, More Than Real broke her maiden at first asking at Saratoga.
The filly then finished second as the heavy favorite in Woodbine's G2 Natalma Stakes, and so was sent off at better than 13-1 odds in the Breeders' Cup. Ridden by the late Garrett Gomez, More Than Real won by an emphatic two lengths to give celebrity chef owner Bobby Flay his first Breeders' Cup victory.
An ill-fated trip to Royal Ascot followed, in which the filly ran 11th in the G1 Coronation Stakes, and More Than Real managed two more third-place finishes in graded stakes company before retiring. At the end of her 3-year-old season, More Than Real commanded a final bid of $675,000 at Fasig-Tipton's November sale, selling to James Bester.
