The Lumber Guy to run in Peter Pan, not Preakness
The connections of The Lumber Guy said Monday that they would run their colt in Saturday’s Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont Park rather than waiting a week to run in the Grade 1 Preakness at Pimlico, reports the Daily Racing Form. The Peter Pan is run around one turn, something trainer Michael Hushion indicated was a factor in his decision.
“I don’t expect him to be in as much of a hurry going one turn as he was around two,” Hushion said.
Mike Luzzi will have the mount on The Lumber Guy.
