I’ll Have Another has amassed more than 5,000 followers on Twitter under the name @Ill_HaveAnother. His first message was to say Lava Man (@IAmLavaMan) told him it was time to get an account. The two accounts frequently interact and speak affectionately of the other and their work together, reports the Rail blog of the New York Times.

“Yes we are the equine equivalent of Rocky and Pauly,” Lava Man wrote recently. “Now that theme song is running in my head.”

I’ll Have Another’s Twitter presence and success on the racetrack are making him a star beyond the sport. He’s made the David Lettermon monologue on Monday and was part of a joke Joe Biden told on Tuesday. He’s received tweets from Jim Rome and Joan Rivers. In response to the latter, I’ll Have Another tweeted “You know you’ve made it when @Joan_Rivers is tweeting about you. #mademyday.”

Followers of I’ll Have Another and Lava Man have watched the duo list the things they want to do while visiting New York City. The number one item on their list: win the Belmont stakes.

Last tweet from IHA, “I’m ready for another milkshake.”  Lava Man responded, “I think I’ll have another.”

LM needs to ask IHA if he can top that bankroll he made???…it will take the triple dipper & then some to pull it off…we are pull n for him!!!…

    James —

Won’t happen!! The only reason Lava
Man amassed such a bank roll was because he is a gelding. IHA won’t
be racing that long ———— I Hope?

When IHA wins the Triple Crown, his
racing career will be cut short — he will be to valuable to
continue on, past 3 — understandably. I would think the Breeder’s
Cup would be the next main objective, unless he fails at Belmont.
Can’t envision him leaving So. Cal again, nothing to be gained!! If
he should loose the Belmont, then, you could probably see him in more
3-year old races throughout the country (That’s only my “opinion”)!

This is cute !! I imagine I’ll Have Another & Lava Man’s fans are getting a kick out of this.
Too bad Secretariat didn’t have a twitter account while he was racing. Secretariat & Riva Ridge’s fans would have crashed the system with so many tweets !! LOL

I hope regardless of the outcome of the Belmont, we see “I’ll Have Another” continue racing. Granted, Curlin didn’t win the Triple Crown, but he did win The Dubai Cup at 4 years old & he continued racing for the rest of that year. I agree, we don’t see many 3 years olds continue as 4 year olds, unless they are a gelding. I like seeing horses like “Jackson Bend” at 5 years old, still racing & winning as well :)

The industry continues to grow !  Champion racehorses and their stables are now going to have to start hiring “social media consultants” to keep up with the tweet demand.
