The allotment of Belmont Stakes tickets given to Ticketmaster were available starting at 10 a.m. this morning.  Three minutes later the tickets were sold out, reports Thoroughbred Times. Online ticket prices were $20 for grandstand seats at the far end and $120 for seats closer to the finish line. Tickets are now available on re-sale site Stubhub.com starting at $130 for seats at the far end of the grandstand.

Belmont Park has seating for 32,000 but can hold many more than that. The record attendance was set in 2004 when 120,139 were on site to watch Smarty Jones try for the Triple Crown.

yeah, unfortunately one big day is not going to revive Belmont/NY racing, after it’s over it will go back the usual 200 or so daily ‘regulars’..they couldn’t give those tix away last year they were available up until day of..at least they wont have to inflate the atendance this year.
