An ongoing battle with weight will be keeping Patrick Valenzuela out of the saddle for the near future, it was reported by the Daily Racing Form on May 20.

The embattled rider ended a five-month retirement at the start of the current Betfair Hollywood Park meet, but has struggled to control his riding weight. Through Saturday, Valenzuela had one win from 26 starts.
