Calumet Farm's Oxbow, winner of the G1 Preakness Stakes and runner-up to Palace Malice in the G1 Belmont, will likely miss the remainder of the year due to an on-going ankle issue.
According to a report in the Blood-Horse, trainer D. Wayne Lukas indicated Aug. 16 that the 3-year-old colt by Awesome Again would not be pushed to get back to the races, and would instead be aimed at a 4-year-old campaign.
Oxbow suffered the ankle injury when finishing fourth in the G1 William Hill Haskell Invitational July 27.
