Ordak Dan scored a win Saturday's Group 1 Gran Premio 25 de Mayo and with it, the chance to become South America's first Breeders' Cup Turf contender. The race was the first ‘Win and You're In' race for the Turf.

The race was 4-year-old Ordak Dan's first Group 1 competition, but with expert handling from rider Pablo Carrizo, the Argentine-bred drew off for an easy three-quarter length victory.

“The horse that won has been running very well and won nicely,” said John Fulton, South American Breeders' Cup representative. “I hope that they choose to go because I think the horse could run very well at Santa Anita.”

South America was represented by its first Breeders' Cup winner last year when Calidoscopio won the Marathon.
