Jockey Frankie Dettori, who is nearing the end of his six-month suspension due to drugs, is in Ireland this week and has been busy working horses for trainer Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle.
Godolphin dropped Dettori as its number one rider last fall; part of the reason for the split was Dettori's decision to ride Camelot in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) last October, according to the Racing Post.
For now, Dettori and agent Ray Cochrane are only claiming that they are on a golfing vacation, but should something develop, they'd be open to the idea. Cochrane told the Post, “Frankie is good friends with Johnny Murtagh and is over visiting him, playing a bit of golf and riding a bit of work into the bargain too.”
“If there are going to be rides involved…we will be grateful.”
