Cross Traffic, impressive winner of the Grade 1 Whitney Handicap, will skip Saturday’s G1 Woodward Stakes and run in the G1 Jockey Club Gold Cup instead, it was reported in the Daily Racing Form.

Trainer Todd Pletcher indicated that he wanted to run the 4-year-old Unbridled’s Song colt only one more time before the G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic, and he feels that the 1 1/4-mile JC Gold Cup is a “better way to get there then the 1 1/8-mile Woodward.”
