Channel Lady found a burst of speed in time to win the Grade 3 Edward P. Evans All Along Stakes at Colonial Downs on Saturday under Javier Castellano. The 4-year-old filly split rivals in the stretch and held off a late-charging bid from Idle Talk at the wire.

The Todd Pletcher trainee previously won the Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes at Gulfstream Park in February, as well as the Stardusk Stakes in November. She is owned by James Scatuorchio and Jake Pletcher.

Channel Lady was bred in Kentucky by Kaygar Stable, Wayne Morris, Bluegrass Hall and James Scatuorchio. She is the daughter of English Channel and King of Kings (IRE) mare Queen Supreme.

Idle Time finished second, followed by Clare Skies Ahead. The final time for the 1 1/8 miles was 1:50.34. See the full chart here.

She was my pick for the all along stakes…though some were saying to stay away from her.
