British trainer Gerard Butler has withdrawn his appeal of the five-year ban imposed on him by the British Horseracing Authority, according to officials on Friday.
Butler lodged his appeal on Dec. 11 despite having admitted to all seven charges against him for administering stanozolol to nine horses in his care.
In some case, Butler gave the drugs to the horses himself, which the tribunal that issued the ban noted further endangered the Thoroughbreds in his care.
