Emollient, who captured the G1 Central Bank Ashland Stakes by nine lengths, will make her next start in the G2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico May 17, according to trainer Bill Mott.
In an interview in the Daily Racing Form, Mott indicated that since the daughter of Empire Maker had run two races in the span of just a week (a fourth-place finish in the G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks prior to the Ashland), he would prefer to give her a little bit more time before she makes her next start.
Mott is set to saddle both Close Hatches, winner of the G2 Gazelle, and Flashy Gray, runner-up in the G2 Fair Grounds Oaks, in the May 3 Kentucky Oaks.
