Black Caviar’s trainer Peter Moody has expressed his displeasure of the World Thoroughbred Rankings, reports the Mirror. Frankel, who is unbeaten in 10 starts and has won six Group 1 races, is weighted eight pounds higher than Black Caviar. The mare is unbeaten in 21 starts and won 11 Group 1 races.   Moody also takes exception to the fact that Black Caviar’s rating has dropped two pounds since she stretched her unbeaten record to 21.

“Her rating hasn’t lifted in the past six or seven runs for beating horses of a different variety, including multiple Group 1 winners,” said Moody. “That’s a bit hard to weigh up and it belittles the international ratings somewhat. They’re saying she’s beating ordinary horses (compared to Frankel’s opposition) but that’s ludicrous. With great respect to Frankel and knowing what a great horse he is, it’s also ludicrous that he receives a higher rating every time he races, considering he’s got his own pacemaker.”

WHO cares who is ranked where and how high…if that is something that these people are worried about…they have some serious issues….zip it Moody and just make sure your very “amazing” horse stays healthy and happy…THAT is your job!

I agree with you in some way but I can see Moody’s point. He’s just trying to get the appropriate recognition for his spectacular Superstar Mare. If she was mine, I would not want her to play second, third, fourth etc etc fiddle to anybody.

He actually makes some very good points…Frankel always gets the rabbit.

I fully agree with Moody here. Frankel is a great horse, but I’m not sure he’s facing anything as good as Europe is accustomed to having, meaning that there seems to be a shortage of good milers.
