Algorithms returns to training at Belmont
Holy Bull Stakes (gr. III) winner Algorithms has returned to training and has joined Todd Pletcher’s string at Belmont Park, according to a report at the Blood-Horse.
Algorithms, who is owned by Starlight Racing, returned to Belmont on Sept. 11, after having been off for almost seven months due to an injury. Undefeated in three starts, the son of Bernardini was the morning line favorite heading into the Feb. 26 Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II), but the colt fractured a split bone in his right front leg and was forced to the sidelines. Surgery was performed to repair the leg in late February.
Jack Wolf told the Blood-Horse that a race target for Algorithms would probably be decided by the end of October.
