Admiral Kitten wins G1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington Park Admiral Kitten wins G1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington Park

The hot streak for owners Ken and Sarah Ramsey continued Saturday at Arlington Park, as   Admiral Kitten roared home in the Grade 1, $500,000 Secretariat Stakes for three-year-olds.

Under Rosie Napravnik, Admiral Kitten won his first graded stakes victory and his third win from eight career starts.  Longshot Stormy Len was second, while race favorite Jack Milton picked up third.  The final time for the 1 1/4 miles was 2:02.17.

Admiral Kitten, a son of Kitten’s Joy out of the Grand Slam mare, Reachinforthestars, was also bred by the Ramseys and is trained by Michael Maker.

Longshot Golden Jason set the earlier tempo from his inside post, tracked by Rydilluc and Stormy Len through fractions of 24.90 and 49.91.  Rounding the far turn, Stormy Len took the lead while Admiral Kitten shot through an opening to have a clear shot at the frontrunner.  He tracked him down before the wire to win by 1 1/4 lengths.
