Rees: Churchill’s Spring Meet a ‘Rerun’ of Recent Years

With the 2013 Churchill Downs spring meet in the books, the Louisville Courier-Journal’s Jennie Rees takes a look at the news makers and the significant developments that occurred during the race meeting.

For the most part, Rees says, the meet was the “same old, same old”. While the top-end races were great, the middle and lower-end races continued to deteriorate, with smaller fields and lower quality horses.
