KY: Racing Commission Upholds Dutrow Ban
In a meeting held March 13, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission voted unanimously to accept a hearing officer’s recommendation upholding its decision made two years ago to deny a license to trainer Rick Dutrow Jr., according to a report in the Blood-Horse.
The KHRC originally denied Dutrow a license in April 2011, due to discrepancies on his application and “conduct against the best interests of racing.”
Dutrow began serving a 10-year suspension handed down in New York two months ago, after the last of his appeals was denied. He is currently pursuing the matter in federal court.
