The California Horse Racing Board voted unanimously to restrict the use of clenbuterol for horses racing in the state, reports the Daily Racing Form. The suggested withdrawal time has been increased to 21 days and new limits of how much can be in a horse’s system in a post-race test are still under discussion. It is expected the new limits will be decided on in June or July.

The new restriction is set to take effect on July 18, opening day for Del Mar.  The restriction will be in place for one year and will apply to both Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses running in the state.

This is the little lost story. Del Mar should be interesting.
