West Point Thoroughbreds, Paulick Report Launch $2,500 Derby Dollars Contest
West Point Thoroughbreds, the Gold Standard in Racing Partnerships, is teaming up with the Paulick Report and 123Racing to bring horse racing enthusiasts a free handicapping challenge offering cash prizes on the road to the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.
The $2,500 Derby Dollars Contest, presented by West Point Thoroughbreds, kicks off with this Saturday’s Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream Park in Florida and the Risen Star at Fair Grounds in Louisiana, then continues over the next 10 weeks, culminating with the Kentucky Derby on May 3. All of the races in the Derby Dollars Contest are from the schedule of 3-year-old events that make up the official Road to the Kentucky Derby point standings. During the Derby Dollars Contest, participants build bankrolls based on mythical “across-the-board” (win-place-show) bets on their picks in each designated race. The first eight races feature mythical $2 across-the-board wagers. Then, corresponding with the Road to the Kentucky Derby point standings (when qualifying points double, starting with the March 29 Florida Derby, UAE Derby and Louisiana Derby), participants make $4 across-the-board wagers. The final race in the Derby Dollars Contest – the Kentucky Derby – raises the stakes even higher, with a mythical $6 across-the-board wager for all participants.
The winner is determined by the highest total bankroll after the Kentucky Derby. The grand prize is $1,500 for first place, with $500 for second, $250 for third, $150 for fourth and $100 for fifth.
