Wonderful. Great people. This makes up for all of the space junk raining down on us the rest of the year.

Good one. Poor Housebuster. If he hadn’t gotten injured (do I remember that correctly?)…

Would have responded sooner but was on a 15 day trip VT-NH-ME-RI (collected a $288.60 double Races 1-2 – both fields 5 horses – at the world-renowned Skowhegan ME harness track-Fair Grounds. Well, I think it’s at least somewhat renowned.- with 98% of their fans thinking the safest thing to do is to bet on the favorites. Oddity: The R1 #4 – R2 #5 double will pay was $288.60. So was the R1 #5 – R2 #5. Both bets were on my ticket. I was told that that meant that either bet would have won the entire pool . Evidence suggesting that this is not so far-fetched: The handle in the paper the next day: $13,000).

Onto the Travers, in about 20 minutes. Slightly stiffer competition.

Wonderful ceremony. Great people. Reminded me of the ovations given to Jose Santos. This makes up for all the racing space junk that falls on us all the rest of the year.

Talk about dropping the ball, TVG, HRTV, no live coverage of this event?

    • Don Reed

Ellis Park coverage is infinitely more significant.

Joseaveragefan: Have to agree. I couldn’t help but wonder, while watching this particular video, whether each recipient had more to say. Certainly hope so. I would have liked to have heard more from each. If it had been covered by these channels, perhaps, they could have devoted more time. However, I’ve been to award presentations and, sometimes, people can get long-winded but a quick thank you sort of cheats us of hearing a little more….

      • Joeaveragefan

It wasn’t like they had programming that was more important. TVG was showing an infomercial and HRTV was showing a two year old show jumping competition. Racing talks a big game about wanting to be ‘major’ league but can you imagine MLB,NBA, or NFL not showing their HOF inductions. Each of those has their own network along with ESPN help and we have TWO ‘dedicated’ to the sport and still can’t get it right.

  • nu-fan

Thank you for sharing the video with all of us. I bet I am not the only one who would have liked to have been there in person.

And it’s obvious that she cares deeply about him……very sweet.

And, that makes her even prettier! A supportive spouse, family friends and co-workers can make so much difference toward the success in the lives of others.
