The Paulick Report is in South Florida to share the experience of Gulfstream Park during Florida Derby Week.
Gulfstream Park, together with Calder Race Course, Florida's horsemen, and jockeys, funds Florida Thoroughbred Retirement and Adoptive Care (Florida TRAC). Florida TRAC's vice president Celia Fawkes said the group, which provides retraining, adoption, and/or retirement for the state's Thoroughbreds, is not a rescue. Rather, TRAC works to prevent a horse from needing to be rescued.
Natalie Voss visited TRAC's facility in Southwest Ranches, Fla. to learn more about the organization.
