The Paulick Report is in South Florida to share the experience of Gulfstream Park during Florida Derby Week.

Gulfstream Park, together with Calder Race Course, Florida’s horsemen, and jockeys, funds Florida Thoroughbred Retirement and Adoptive Care (Florida TRAC). Florida TRAC’s vice president Celia Fawkes said the group, which provides retraining, adoption, and/or retirement for the state’s Thoroughbreds, is not a rescue. Rather, TRAC works to prevent a horse from needing to be rescued.

Natalie Voss visited TRAC’s facility in Southwest Ranches, Fla. to learn more about the organization.

I know that much needs to be done to improve the safety of thoroughbreds, but it’s nice to see something postive. They are om the right TRAC.

They are right on TRAC!!!! I recently got my gelding from Celia at Florida TRAC. He is by the far the greatest gift I could have ever received from my husband. I have wanted the loyal breed for my most of my life and have researched and searched out organizations for the past 6 years. BY FAR Florida TRAC is the most amazing organization I found throughout the entire country. They truly care about the horses, LOVE what they do each and every day, while having fun too. The care of each and every horse is above outstanding. Volunteer run, I am amazed at the dedication, hard work and show ready look of the barn and horses. Impressive does little to describe it. I continue to spread the work to all about Florida Trac and of course my favorite breed!!!!!
