Philanthropists Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson contribute plenty year in and year out to the community of Saratoga Springs, NY., and to the racing industry. But when their home racetrack celebrates its 150th anniversary, that calls for something above and beyond.
To honor the 150th anniversary of Saratoga Race Course, the prominent local couple has donated $15,000 for each of the last five Saturdays of the meet. Each week, a lucky recipient gets to place a $15,000 win bet on the feature race of the card.
For your chance to participate, go to www.saratoga150.com and sign up. This past Saturday, Kevin Brockley kicked things off with his $15,000 wager on the Whitney Invitational. Paulick Report Editor-in-Chief Scott Jagow was there to give us a taste of the experience.
