Rafael Bejarano leads Tyler Baze 8-7 in the Los Alamitos jockey standings. Rafael Bejarano leads Tyler Baze 8-7 in the Los Alamitos jockey standings.

The jockey’s race at Betfair Hollywood Park remains undecided heading into Sunday, the final day of the last Spring/Summer meet at the historic track.

With 48 days of the season complete, Joe Talamo clings to a 50-49 lead over both defending S/S champion Rafael Bejarano and Edwin Maldonado, who won the 2012 Autumn meet.

Maldonado, who began the final week of the meet seven winners behind Talamo, won twice Saturday – the first with Mr. Bossy Pants and seventh with Myfundsarelo – to pull even with Bejarano, who won the Grade II A Gleam Handicap aboard Book Review.

In search of his first title at Betfair Hollywood Park, Talamo, 23, is named to ride four horses – Divine Notion in the sixth, Volkonsky in the seventh, Brother Soldier in the ninth and Love That Action in the 10th.

The 31-year-old Bejarano, who also swept the S/S and Autumn meets in 2008, and Maldonado, 30, both have five scheduled closing day mounts.

Bejarano has calls on Metaxa in the first, Tribal Peace in the fourth, Ethnic Dance in the seventh, Dance With Fate in the ninth and U S Citizen in the 10th. Maldonado will ride Brandon’s Princess in the second, Unseen Visitor in the third, Night Badger in the eighth, Heyyoucan in the ninth and Saint Leo in the 11th.
